What is ReadySetRecycle.com?

We are entertainment industry professionals who are appalled to see thousands of tons of scenery, props and costumes ending up in landfill every year.

So… we’ve created ReadySetRecycle.com, a website where industry professionals can list such items for sale (or giveaway).

Basic listings (one item per listing) are free.

The site will pay its bills through banner ads

Currently the site is set up to serve Toronto, New York and LA.

People are listing, and that's great! But we need to keep the ball rolling, so please...

List something!

We are beginning a promotion campaign to get eyeballs on your listings.

And we’ll keep priming the pump till the site reaches critical mass.

This might not happen right away, but we’re determined to keep at it till it works because we want to stop the waste ASAP.

Our hope (and dream) is that Ready Set Recycle will help to green the entertainment industry.

On behalf of the production "The Border" I posted the availability of a set we had built as an Afghanistan location. The producer was keen on diverting this rather large set of Adobe walls from landfill, even if it meant incurring storage costs. We stored it in a transport trailer and within a year, it found a destination with the NABET700 production "Combat Hospital". The sale price was more than the storage costs, and the original intention to divert from landfill was accomplished at a profit. Posting on Ready, Set, Recycle was instrumental in this process.
